This page is where you control what Sweetfin does with your personal information. Everything here is free, and using any of it will never change the prices you pay, the rewards you earn, or the service you get from us.

Global Privacy Control

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a valid opt-out of the sale and sharing of your personal information, and advertising cookies stay off for that browser without you having to do anything else. Firefox, Brave and DuckDuckGo send this signal, and extensions are available for Chrome, Edge and Safari. When we detect it, the cookie notice on this site tells you so.

Browser signals are specific to the browser and device you are using. If you use Sweetfin on a phone and a laptop, set your preference on each.

Choose what runs on this site

Strictly necessary technology is always on because the site cannot run securely without it. Everything else is your call. Changes take effect as soon as you save, and turning something off clears what it already stored in this browser.

Your rights as a California resident

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we have collected about you, where we got it, why we collected it, and who we disclosed it to.
• Get a copy of the specific pieces of personal information we hold about you, in a portable format.
• Delete the personal information we hold about you, subject to the exceptions the law allows, such as records we must keep for tax or fraud-prevention reasons.
• Correct personal information about you that is inaccurate.
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, including for targeted advertising — the button at the top of this page, or a Global Privacy Control signal, does exactly this.
• Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. We will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or give you a lower level of service because you exercised a privacy right.

Sensitive personal information

We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would require us to offer a separate “Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information” option, and we do not use it to infer characteristics about you. If that changes, we will add that control here.

How to make a request

You can submit a request to know, delete, correct, or receive a copy of your information in any of these ways:

• Our contact form — choose one of the privacy topics from the Topic menu.
• Email info@sweetfin.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line.
• Call (888) 820-3885, our toll-free line.

Opting out of sale or sharing does not require any of this. Use the button at the top of this page, or send a Global Privacy Control signal, and it takes effect immediately with no verification step.

How we verify a request

For requests to know, delete, or correct, we need to be reasonably sure the request is really yours before we act on it, because handing your information to the wrong person would be worse than not handing it over at all. We will usually ask you to confirm details we already hold, such as the email address or phone number on your Sweetfan Rewards account or a recent order. We use anything you give us for verification only, and we delete it afterwards.

Someone acting on your behalf

You can appoint an authorized agent to make a request for you. We will ask for written permission signed by you, and we may still ask you to verify your own identity with us directly or to confirm that you gave the agent permission. An agent with a valid power of attorney does not need to do this.

How long we take

We confirm we have received a request within 10 business days and tell you how we will handle it. We complete requests to know, delete, and correct within 45 calendar days, and will tell you if we need up to another 45 days for a complicated request. Opt-out requests take effect within 15 business days, and we pass them on to the advertising platforms we shared your information with in the 90 days before your request.

If you live outside California

Several other states give residents similar rights over their personal information. We honor requests to know, delete, correct, and opt out of targeted advertising from residents of any US state, using the same channels above, whether or not the law in your state requires it.

Appeals

If we decline your request and you think we were wrong, reply to our decision or email info@sweetfin.com with “Privacy appeal” in the subject line. We will review it and respond in writing with our reasoning. You can also contact the California Privacy Protection Agency or the California Attorney General’s office.
