Sweetfin is seeking an experienced professional to oversee all general accounting and financial reporting functions for multiple business units. Candidates must possess a high level of initiative and expert organizational and problem-solving skills. This is an amazing opportunity for an established finance professional to join an already successful group gearing up for national expansion. Candidate should possess savvy business skills, be a highly motivated professional, with proven ability to establish excellent working relationships with various team members.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversee and execute Food & Beverage controller strategies for the company
  • Creating financial statements, managing P&L, and balance sheets in an accurate and timely manner
  • Financial reports: monthly, quarterly and annual reports, including but not limited to monthly and fiscal close, internal and external audit reporting, report preparation and distribution
  • Review of general ledger and balance sheet
  • Assist operations team with annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting
  • Oversee Bill.com electronic payments
  • Cash management and tax compliance/planning
  • Provide technical accounting GAAP guidance and support to all units
  • Coordinate work relating to both internal and external audits
  • Risk assessment and management
  • Identify and assess financial issues
  • Support monthly inventory processes to ensure accuracy and control
  • Develop and improve organizational financial systems to ensure continued growth and business development
  • Resolving various accounting/reconciliation issues
  • Support the payroll function as needed
  • Manage outsourced GL team for period end closes, full cycle AP/AR, cash management, and automation/streamlining of non-strategic processes
  • Annual and periodic business planning, including cash planning and cash flow forecast updates. Build assessment models for business expansion across different revenue streams - new restaurants, ghost kitchens, digital strategies, etc.
  • Directly build commission programs, bonus programs, drive alignment and performance in the business. Manage outsourced payroll partners to ensure accuracy and efficiency of our payroll processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3years’ experience as a Controller, Accounting Manager, Bookkeeper or comparable finance management role
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Prior experience in the restaurant/hospitality industry is required
  • Strong knowledge of financial database, accounting, and other relevant digital platforms that support the organization and recordkeeping of sensitive financial data
  • Experience liaising with banks and other financial institutions to support business growth financing
  • Fully proficient in all MS office programs and relevant IT systems
  • Self-starter who is able to work independently with minimal oversight
  • Able to meet deadlines consistently and effectively
  • Able to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
  • Strong leader who can effectively diagnose problems and recommend/implement effective solutions
